What is a direct debit?

Direct debit is an automated payment method where you give someone else the authority to withdraw money from your bank account at regular intervals. This service is often used for things that require regular payments like utility bills, monthly subscriptions, mortgages, insurance and leasings.

You can set up SEPA direct debits where you act as a payer through your iCard account in order for payees to automatically request and deduct amounts from your account. You can give your iCard IBAN and receive direct debits from different EEA merchants, but keep in mind that this feature is supported only in euros.
