Why was the amount of the returned transfer less than the original amount?

In some cases when your outbound bank transfer is returned, the amount might be lower than what you originally sent. The amount that will be returned to your account is the amount that we will receive from the other bank. The sending fee for the bank transfer will not be reversed as we have already processed this transfer and the reason for returning is not in our control.

This usually happens with international (SWIFT) transfers and may occur because some intermediary banks apply a handling fee for processing, even though your transfer wasn’t received by the beneficiary.
